Bernadette Dawson has almost 30 years of belly dance experience.
She is founder of Genies of the Mist and director and choreographer of BellyDance! Basics & Beyond, which is Metros original belly dance studio. She has been providing affordable, consistent, quailty instruction since 1989.
In an interview by the Daily News in 1995, Maryanne Elisa was interested in studyingthe dance form that is part of her Lebanese heritage, is quoted as saying:
"Bernadette has such an appreciation of the art of belly dancing. She acknowledges it as an art form. It's wonderful to find someone who is not Arabic that embodies the beauty of this art."
